Read with the Deacs

The Skip Prosser Literacy Program invites you to Read with the Deacs. This program strives to create a community of readers in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County. Student interns and ambassadors regularly visit local elementary schools to promote our love of reading with schools participating in the Skip Prosser READ Challenge.

Over the past two years, we have invited faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members to join the Skip Prosser Literacy Program interns in reading the book series City Spies by James Ponti. In spring 2026, we are excited to read City Spies: Forbidden City. We hope you will join us! Participants can support our local independent book store and order through Bookmarks.
