Literacy Program

In 2009, former Athletic Director Ron Wellman, along with staff members Jane Caldwell, Geoff Lassiter, Mike Odom, and others, decided the best way to pay tribute to and expand the legacy of former men’s basketball coach Skip Prosser was through education with a focus on reading and literacy. More than a decade later the Skip Prosser Literacy Program, an umbrella for various community-engaged literacy efforts involving Wake Forest students and student-athletes, continues to grow as a collaboration with Dr. Alan Brown and Ms. Alicia Lemar from the Department of Education with support from Wake Forest Athletics.
